Hi, I'm Alex,

I've spent most of my life caring for animals and all of it adoring them. After five years of struggling through university I found myself seeking joy outside of academia, which is when I decided to take the leap and put all of my animal care experience to good use!
I'm Level 3 Pet First Aid certified (including Canine and Feline First Aid and CPR), fully insured, DBS cleared, NarpsUK registered and currently focusing on canine behaviour and training education as part of my commitment to Continuing Professional Development. I can administer medication and have experience handling senior, anxious and difficult dogs of all sizes.
Currently I live with four pets, two of whom are medically complex, so I know how scary it can be entrusting your pet to somebody else. Every pet is unique, and I'll always do all I can to make you feel as reassured about their care as possible.

Pet care services
Dog walking
Walks are one of the most mentally stimulating parts of a dog's day, and that's exactly what I'm here to provide!
I offer bespoke walks for one household at a time, so your dogs will have close attention for the whole duration. Choose from between half an hour to two hours of outside enrichment with a plan that suits their needs best, whether that's sniffing, playing, exercising or something else entirely.
Come rain or shine, I'll be there to get them exercised, mentally stimulated and (hopefully) tuckered out!
Their health is always top priority. Walks will always include plenty of water breaks and a wipe-down at the end for muddy paws!
House sitting
I take care of your pets in the place they're most comfortable - we'll go through every detail of their routine and I'll make sure they have as much normality as possible in your absence. Walks, play, feeding, medication, litter tray changes, that little ritual they have before dinner - everything you can think of will be taken care of, with lots of love to boot.
Home check-ins
One to three check-ins a day for small mammals, reptiles, cats and dogs, ensuring your pet can be fed, litter trays and bedding changed and lots of fuss given!

Meet & Greets
The most important step of any care is to make sure both you and your pet are comfortable with me - that's why I will always arrange as many zero-obligation meet and greets as you feel you need. Not every carer is the best fit for every pet, and that's okay! Your pet's comfort is my first priority, always.
I always recommend first meets to be where the pet lives as this is where they're most comfortable. If you feel a different arrangement may work better, just let me know and I'm happy to work with you to sort something out.
During the meet and greet:
- I'll meet your pets so they can start to familiarise themselves with me
- We'll discuss what you and your pets need from me, including medication, routine and the strange little quirks I absolutely love to learn about (don't worry - this will all be written down in later forms too)
- If you're seeking care that includes dog walking, we'll also go on a quick trial walk or arrange one for a future date to make sure everyone's happy
- At the end of the meet we can discuss whether I'm right for you and your pet and, if you're happy, arrange onboarding for you!
Alex is wonderful with my dog. She has separation anxiety, and struggles to go with other people. She absolutely adores Alex! Their care of animals is unwavering, kind, compassionate and fun.
